I was brought in on Cabin, first and foremost, to help director Drew Goddard design the action of this big money shot of the elevators opening up and the monsters pouring out and tearing the guards to shreds. What Drew wanted to do was to shoot each monster attack seperately and then composite the whole thing together. Which meant planning. I needed to draw each attack in it's own boardset, while ensuring that there were no awkward overlaps once it was all pieced together.

You've seen the finished shot, now check out the ELEVATOR ELEMENTS.

Another fun thing Drew asked me to do was to put together a simple series of boards that the 2nd unit could use to film random monster attacks throughout the facility. These would then be a part of the mosaic of security camera shots that filled the monitors of the control room.

See the CHAOS BOARDS!
